About Us

Subjective is group of creative strategists, researchers and technologists, dedicated to helping organizations navigate the future of emotion technology. We are led by Pamela Pavliscak (opens new window), faculty at the Pratt Institute (opens new window) in New York City and author of Emotionally Intelligent Design: Rethinking How We Create Products (opens new window) from O'Reilly.

We take a hybrid, multi-modal approach to the challenges of and opportunities for emotionally aware technology in the workplace, in products, and in daily life. Our engagements usually include perspectives on measuring, observing, monitoring, and interpreting data about human behavior, physiological expressions, signals, perceptions and emotions. This can take the form of training, R&D and technology development.

  • Education and Training - We provide custom on-site or virtual workshops on the latest trends and challenges surrounding emotionally aware technology.

  • Product Research and Development - We lead or augment product development teams looking to integrate emotionally intelligent technology into new products or enhanced workflows.

  • Software Development - We're developing our own emotionally intelligent software to enhance our R&D, consulting and training work. We also lead or augment software development teams working on emotion technology projects.
